Huron Consulting Group Named a 2014 Top Workplace by The Oregonian

HURN

Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced that it has been named a Top Workplace by The Oregonian for the second consecutive year. The recognition, awarded to companies in the Oregon and Southwest Washington area, is based entirely on employee input gathered by the independent research firm WorkplaceDynamics, LLP.

“Our employees’ talent, integrity and passion for excellence are intrinsic to Huron’s success,” said James H. Roth, president and chief executive officer, Huron Consulting Group. “Being named a Top Workplace translates into a tremendous amount of internal pride and is a powerful indicator that we are creating a rewarding and productive work environment. This environment is fundamental in supporting our employees, enabling them to provide the highest quality work for our clients. We are honored by the continued recognition as one of The Oregonian’s Top Workplaces.”

With a worldwide workforce of more than 2,500 professionals, Huron is known not only for its collaborative culture but also for its support of diversity, inclusion, work/life balance and for having transparent compensation and extensive employee benefits programs.

The Company has two locations in the Portland, Ore. area—Beaverton and Lake Oswego—employing more than 300 people, focused on software and technology solutions as well as creating and deploying large scale systems for healthcare organizations, academic medical centers and higher education institutions. With rapid growth in these arenas, Huron’s Portland offices continue to recruit for positions in software engineering, analytics, data discovery, deployment and support, as well as for experts in its business consulting services.

Huron makes investments in training, professional development, work/life balance and employee wellness to support employees’ careers. The Company provides employees with competitive and transparent compensation plans, offering a 6% 401(k) Company match and an employee stock program that provides a 25% Company match. In addition, Huron offers many other benefits including employee wellness programs, flexible paid time-off opportunities and work schedules, pet insurance, telemedicine, and daycare and eldercare referrals.

The Company’s ongoing commitment to the community brings employees together by helping others through its Huron Helping Hands initiatives. Huron Helping Hands provides support through civic sponsorship, community service projects, pro bono activities, and an employee matching gifts program. Portland area employees support several local community service organizations including the Oregon Food Bank and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington.

The Top Workplaces are determined based solely on employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. WorkplaceDynamics conducts regional Top Workplaces programs with 40 major publishing partners across the United States. Over the past year, more than 5,000 organizations and 1 in every 88 employees in the U.S. have turned to WorkplaceDynamics to better understand what’s on the minds of their employees. Through its workplace improvement offerings, WorkplaceDynamics provides solutions, training and tools to help clients improve their workplace. The Oregonian published the complete list of Top Workplaces on September 14th.
