Intellicheck Mobilisa's IM2610 TWIC Reader Meets Transportation Security Administration's Criteria for Use in Harsh Conditions

IDN

Intellicheck Mobilisa, Inc. (NYSE MKT:IDN), a global leader in identity solutions and wireless security systems, announced that its IM2610 handheld TWIC reader has been tested by an independent third-party laboratory and shown to meet criteria set by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for use in harsh conditions.

As a result of having met the requirements, the IM2610 reader will be listed with a “yes” in the “Use in Harsh Conditions” column within the TWIC Reader Qualified Technology List for Portable Readers that is maintained by TSA. Facilities looking for portable readers that can be used in harsh conditions will be able to easily discern that the IM2610 handheld is appropriate to consider purchasing.

The IM2610 device was submitted to a Nationally Accredited Testing Laboratory by Intellicheck Mobilisa for environmental testing in accordance with the TSA’s TWIC Qualified Technology List Program. The device was evaluated for compliance with the requirements for portable TWIC readers for use in harsh conditions. These conditions include MIL-STD 810F standards for high temperature, low temperature, temperature shock, humidity, vibration and mechanical shock.

Dr. Nelson Ludlow, CEO of Intellicheck Mobilisa, said, “This testing certifies that our IM2610 handheld readers perform well over a wide range of extreme environments. We believe this will make our product more attractive to a variety of potential customers.”

In July 2013, Intellicheck Mobilisa’s IM2620 and IM2610 products became the first mobile readers of TWIC cards to be approved by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The two TWIC reader products passed the TSA’s rigorous testing and are now officially on its Qualified Technology List (QTL) of approved products. In addition to reading TWIC cards, these products scan driver’s licenses and military IDs, can match person-of-interest lookups with law enforcement lists and authorized lists, and are capable of integrating with existing port security systems.
