Honorary President, Dominique Maltais, Invites the Population to Join Her in Support of the Fondation Le Petit Blanchon
QUÉBEC CITY, Sept. 23, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ -This coming Saturday, September 27, will mark the second edition of the Laurentian Bank Montée des sommets to be held at Mont-Sainte-Anne. The family event is a fundraising initiative in support of the Fondation Le Petit Blanchon, an organization dedicated to helping children in difficulty in the Québec City region.
The event has the support and participation of Dominique Maltais, two-time Olympic medalist in snowboard cross and five-time Crystal Globe winner, who will be serving as Honorary President. "I am very happy to be lending my name to this cause," underlines Ms. Maltais. "It is my way of supporting young people who are experiencing difficult situations. I am inviting everyone to come meet me on September 27 and to ascend Mont-Sainte-Anne as a symbolic gesture representing the challenges these children must surmount every day."
Whether participating alone, as a family, or in a team, the Montée des sommets is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a unique day of invigorating physical activity, while taking in the vibrant fall colours on magnificent Mont-Sainte-Anne. Free for children aged 12 and under, this family activity accessible to all involves a five-hour hike along the La Pichard trail, with the goal being to complete as great a distance as possible.
Fun for Both Young and Older
A large family area will be arranged at the foot of the mountain especially for the occasion, and Laurentian Bank's Little Heroes Club will be on hand to keep youngsters amused with inflatable games and face painting, among other diversions. For their part, those who purchased the dinner-show package will be treated to an evening performance by the popular musical group, Les Respectables.
There is still time to sign up for the challenge. The registration form and information about the event are available online at www.lamonteedessommetsbl.com.
