CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems will show a range of capabilities for defense applications at the AUSA 2014 Annual Meeting and Exposition, which takes place in Washington, D.C., October 13-15. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX)

Debuting at booth #6629 is the UTC Aerospace Systems Cargo On/Off Loading System (COOLS) which has been developed to retrofit CH-47 Model D and F aircraft, and is the preferred system for all new production.  COOLS, developed with input from customers and military personnel, has been designed for quick conversion from cargo to troop configuration – while airborne. It is lightweight, with the option of an under-the-floor ballistic protection system that can be deployed depending on mission requirements. Overall COOLS enables rapid loading and unloading of cargo quickly and safely and provides defense against ballistic threats.

UTC Aerospace Systems will display multiple weapons guidance, navigation and control products including inertial sensors and engine power units, together with air data, rescue hoists and Kidde fire protection systems. The company will also host demonstrations of electronic flight bag, and health and usage management systems.

Force protection equipment such as lightweight soldier mounted Sensors Unlimited short-wave infrared (SWIR) cameras will be presented. SWIR cameras allow the warfighter to see through obscurants such as haze and smoke.  Laser warning systems for air and ground platforms and threat detection products will also be highlighted on the booth.

UTC Aerospace Systems will showcase its updated SCI-toolset. It provides a system that enables the rapid exploitation of large amounts of multiple source information, allowing users to find material quickly and pass the relevant data to the end user.

Technical teams from across multiple business units within UTC Aerospace Systems will be on-hand for expert demonstrations and to answer questions on all products displayed.
