Regency Centers (NYSE:REG), a national owner, operator and developer of
grocery-anchored community shopping centers, is proud to announce a 100%
occupancy rate at their San Diego location, Balboa Mesa Shopping Center.
This represents the work done by local Regency Centers’ leasing agent
Eric Li, who signed 13 tenants during the center’s redevelopment period.

“This was a team effort,” began Li. “I worked with a great group of
brokers like Reg Kobzi from CBRE Group in order to ensure that the
surrounding community was getting the merchandising mix that it both
wanted and needed. The redevelopment efforts sparked a new interest in
the center, and I really wanted to funnel that excitement into what we
are providing for the surrounding neighborhoods.”
Located in one of San Diego’s highest trafficked areas, Balboa Mesa
occupies over 210,000 square feet of space, and serves a 3-mile radius
of nearly 130,000 people. Redevelopment of the center began on May 1st
of 2013, and in that time Regency Centers filled every single vacancy.
The new tenants include Doctors Express Urgent Care, 85°C Bakery Cafe,
Ototo Sushi Co, Glamour Nails, The Vitamin Shoppe, Chicken Charlie’s
FryBQ, The Habit Burger Grill, Pieology, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Boudin SF,
Great Clips, Clairemont Smiles, San Diego County Credit Union and Luna
Grill. This will be the first San Diego location for the Taiwan based
85°C Bakery Cafe, and the first brick and mortar location for Chicken
Charlie’s, known from the San Diego County, Orange County and Los
Angeles County fairs.
“This is a well-established community with a huge population. We really
took a lot of time and effort early on to craft a project and
merchandising plan that met the needs of the community,” continued Li.
“I am proud to say that we accomplished that goal, and in November, we
are planning to celebrate with the community by hosting a re-grand
opening of the center where everyone can enjoy family-friendly games and

in October.
