TORONTO, Oct. 16, 2014 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced that Montréal Exchange (MX) and the Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS) set new records on October 15, 2014.
MX set a new overall daily volume record with 799,225 contracts traded. This surpasses the previous record of 758,731 which was established on February 24, 2014. MX also reached a new volume record on the Three-Month Canadian Bankers' Acceptance Futures (BAX*) with 382,058 contracts traded, surpassing the previous record of 302,371 contracts established on April 17, 2012.
CDS established a new record with 3,178,013 exchange trades cleared. The previous record was 3,072,617 set on August 9, 2011.
