Northwest Florida’s leading resort and residential community developer,
The St. Joe Company, today announces the grand opening of the Watersound
Trail. The 5-mile trail spans between Walton and Bay County with its
trailhead located adjacent to Watersound Origins’ Village Commons. The
Watersound Trail winds through St. Joe’s timberlands, and connects with
Gayle’s Trails in the Panama City Beach Conservation Park. The Gayle’s
Trails system, named in recognition of Panama City Beach Mayor Gayle F.
Oberst, is a comprehensive trail system that the City of Panama City
Beach plans to span from Walton County to Hathaway Bridge with a
connection North to Pine Log Forest. There are currently approximately
13 miles of paved trail open to the public. The Watersound Trail grand
opening is another step in the pursuit of the City’s goal to have the
Gayle’s Trails system span approximately 30 miles throughout Panama City
Beach.
