Whitefish, MT / November 4, 2014 / Cannabis stocks moved lower last week and early this week, according to data from the Marijuana Index(TM). Top gainers included Endexx Corporation (OTC: EDXC), which is trading up more than 35% since last Monday, despite having no recent press releases. Industry bellwethers like GW Pharmaceuticals plc (NASDAQ: GWPH) were trading largely even for the week, as of mid-day trading on Monday.
On the regulatory side, cannabis advocates are gearing up for mid-term elections in November where a number of races will decide the fate of legalization. Uruguay – the first country in the world to legalize adult-use cannabis – may face some problems of its own as President Mujica exits the scene. Ultimately, the momentum from these elections will either slow or accelerate the industry's growth.
