Books Focus on Breakthroughs in the Study of Soil and Water

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwired - November 12, 2014) - Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced the publication of four new environmental science books offering the latest information on the study of soil and water, including the fourth edition of Soil Microbiology, Ecology and Biochemistry, written by Eldor Paul, Senior Research Scientist at the Natural Resources Ecology Laboratory at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, and Professor Emeritus at Michigan State University.

The study and understanding of soil biota, their function, and the dynamics of soil organic matter has been revolutionized by molecular and instrumental techniques, and information technology. Dr. Paul's research focuses on the dynamics of soil organic matter and the microbial ecology of soil. During his time at Michigan State, he was professor of soil microbiology and biochemistry, and crop and soil sciences. Dr. Paul earned degrees from the University of Alberta and the University of Minnesota. He is a Fellow of ASA, SSSA, the Canadian Society of Soil Science, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
