The campaign's theme derives its title from the popular children's novel 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz'. In the novel the heroine Dorothy is a young girl who leaves her farmhouse because of a storm and embarks on a magical journey to the Emerald City. She is eventually able to return home, through power that she always had, and she becomes a changed person because she travelled along the Yellow Brick Road.
Western Union's 'My Yellow Brick Road' campaign http://www.myyellowbrickroad.net calls on expatriates in the GCC to share glimpses of their personal and professional lives and asks them to share the proudest and happiest memories that illustrate their journey's meaning and accomplishments along their own yellow brick road. The online survey invites respondents to provide responses to multiple choice questions, in order to generate interesting stories about the experiences of living and working their host country that would move others and inspire them to think of their own successes.
