Regency Centers Announces Transformation of Hanover Village

REG

Regency Centers Corporation (“Regency Centers”) (NYSE:REG), a national owner, operator and developer of grocery-anchored community shopping centers, and its co-investment partner, Global Retail Investors, LLC – a partnership between CalPERS and First Washington Realty – is proud to announce the transformation of its Hanover Village shopping center, located in Mechanicsville, VA.

“The new tenant line-up has generated a lot of excitement for the center,” said Rich Sutphin, Vice President and Regional Officer for Regency Centers. “We felt it was necessary to ensure the local community was getting what it needed at Hanover Village. This is a unique asset, and with the addition of ALDI and the new prototypes of Tuesday Morning and Anna’s, we feel we have created an asset that is positioned for success.”

New to the center is ALDI, a German-born supermarket with over 8,000 stores throughout the United States and overseas. They are a two-time winner of the Supermarket of the Year Award in the United Kingdom, and also won Grocer of the Year in 2013. Their unique store design and operation are known for their efficiency, selection and low cost.

Carrying a reputation for high quality paints and finishes, the Benjamin Moore Paint Company, which originally joined Hanover Village in 2011, will relocate to an expanded space to accommodate the ALDI addition. They will open in their new prototypical store in 4,000 square feet directly adjacent to the new grocer. Operating since 1883, Benjamin Moore looks to continue its tradition of excellence serving the city of Mechanicsville.

Tuesday Morning will be relocating within the center and upgrading to their larger prototype of close to 11,000 square feet, bringing with them their deep-discounts on upscale selections. Anna’s Italian Restaurant and Insurance Doctor are also among the retailers relocating within the center to accommodate the new ALDI grocer.

Regency would like to recognize the collaborative effort of Bruce Bigger and James Ashby of Thalhimer, April Laney of Regency Centers, and Darren Wood of Providence Group. For more information on leasing in the area, please contact April Laney at 703-442-4337, or AprilLaney@RegencyCenters.com.
