MONTREAL, Nov. 20, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - On this National Child Day, National Bank is proud to announce its partnership with Chocolats Geneviève Grandbois to celebrate its 10th fundraising campaign in support of the Breakfast Club of Canada. From November 20 until December 31, a square of chocolate produced exclusively for the campaign will be on sale for $10 (or $7.50 for more than one) at National Bank branches across Canada1. Since the beginning of its association with the Breakfast Club of Canada, National Bank has donated more than $3.8 million to the organization.

At the invitation of Geneviève Grandbois, the 10th edition of the fundraising campaign was launched at a delectable workshop attended by members of the media and children from the Ludger Duvernay Breakfast Club of Canada. Photos of the event are available upon request.

"Our customers always look forward to our fundraising campaign for the Breakfast Club of Canada. Over the past 10 years, this campaign has marked the arrival of the holiday season. On this National Child Day, and throughout the year, National Bank and its employees are proud to declare their support for youth," said Lise-Anne Amyot, Vice President, Brand and Client Experience at National Bank.

Proud ambassador of the 10th National Bank campaign in support of the Breakfast Club of Canada, Geneviève Grandbois said: "It is a pleasure for me to be a part of the campaign announced today by National Bank. Starting the day with a good breakfast is essential, and I sincerely believe that together, we can provide that to even more children every morning."

"The enthusiasm and energy of both Geneviève Grandbois and the staff at the various National Bank branches are contagious, and this will no doubt have a positive effect on customers' participation," said Daniel Germain, President and Founder of the Breakfast Club of Canada. "The Club celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2014, and we are fortunate to have had the support of such an engaged partner for 10 years."

The collaboration of National Bank and the thousands of donors who purchase the exclusive squares of chocolate will allow the Breakfast Club of Canada to maintain its services in existing clubs and extend its work to the largest-possible number of children. Last year, close to 25 million breakfasts were served by 11,000 volunteers across Canada.

Each year, National Bank supports hundreds of Canadian organizations through donations and sponsorships. It is particularly committed to young people through its One for Youth program, ensuring they are healthy and have the tools they need to become engaged citizens committed to building a better world.
