The Container Store, the nation’s originator and leading retailer of
storage and organization products, celebrated the wedding of two 25+
year tenured employees from the retailer’s Distribution Center, Greg
Arechar and Lety Covarrubias yesterday at The Container Store’s
Headquarters.

The Container Store’s atrium served as the backdrop for the ceremony and
was outfitted with the retailer’s storage and organization products. The
couple was married in front of the retailer’s product wall where white
products were showcased with touches of blue, including Blue QBO®
Modular Steel Cubes creatively positioned as a lectern during the
ceremony
Co-Founder and Chairman Emeritus Garrett Boone, an ordained
officiant, led the ceremony at The Container Store’s headquarters. Chairman,
CEO and co-founder, Kip Tindell, and his wife, Sharon Tindell, Chief
Merchandising Officer, were in attendance along with hundreds of
Lety and Greg’s TCS colleagues, friends and family, including the
couple’s children who served as Best Man and Maid of Honor. A collection
of readings were delivered during the ceremony, including a reading by
Kip Tindell from Uncontainable, his new book focused on
The Container Store’s culture, Foundation Principles and Conscious
Capitalism.
“We feel special when we come to work and are so humbled by the
outpouring of love and support,” said Lety Covarrubias. “Our love
started at The Container Store and I wouldn’t want to have my wedding
anywhere else.”
A reception followed in The Container Store’s on-site cafeteria – the
Gumby Café – and featured hors d’oeuvres such as coconut shrimp with
sweet chili glaze, mini chicken taquitos with garlic aioli and beef
empanadas with chipotle aioli, served from the retailer’s colorful
products. Gumby, The Container Store’s unofficial mascot (representing
that you have to be flexible in retail) made a surprise appearance as
the couple excited the reception.
Lety and Greg met in The Container Store’s Distribution Center in Dallas
over 25 years ago. After 23 years together and two fabulous children –
both who work at The Container Store – the couple decided it was time to
make their union official. At the retailer’s Service Awards event this
past summer at the Ritz Carlton honoring employees with tenure of 10,
15, 20, 25 and 30 years, Greg proposed to Lety with the help of Amy
Carovillano, The Container Store’s Vice President of Distribution and
Logistics.
When the floor was open to honorees, Greg waited his turn for the
microphone and got down on one knee and proposed to his love of over 20
years. Lety said “yes” and their engagement news spread fast with
wedding plans quickly underway. When asked where this long-awaited dream
wedding would take place, the couple just couldn’t contain themselves –
it had to be at The Container Store.
In the spirit of The Container Store’s employee-first workplace and
devotion to their Foundation Principles, colleagues and vendors started
chipping in with the generosity of spirit the retailer’s culture is
known for. The Container Store has been successful in creatively
crafting mutually beneficial relationships with their partners and
vendors by doing everything possible to truly “fill their baskets to the
brim” and is pleased to know that in return their vendors and partners
have supported and assisted with the couple’s special occasion:
-
David’s Bridal - a $1,000 gift card towards Lety’s wedding dress
-
Wedding Paper Divas, a division of Shutterfly and Tiny Prints,
graciously donated wedding invitations, programs and personalized
napkins for the reception.
-
Cebolla Fine Flowers of Dallas provided all of the floral for
the ceremony and reception and M C Fina generously donated a
pair of crystal champagne flutes to the bride and groom.
-
Eurest, The Container Store’s food supplier, donated catering
for the reception.
-
Hot Chocolates, Custom Cakes & Handmade Chocolates as well
as TLC Event Rentals provided discounts on their services and
products for the ceremony and reception.
