Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - December 4, 2014) - Defiance Silver Corp (TSXV: DEF) ("Defiance") is pleased to announce the
start of a 2000 meter drill program on the San Acacio silver deposit in the
historic Zacatecas Silver District in Mexico. The San Acacio deposit is hosted
within the Veta Grande epithermal vein which is up to 20 meters wide and more
than 8.5 km long. Historical production totals approximately 100 million ounces
of silver.
The drilling program is focused on the 1 km long zone of
historical workings which reaches depths of only 200 meters below surface.
Mineralization is open to depth and along strike. Drilling is designed to
intersect the vein in 75 meter increments from the deepest resource block to 150
meters below the old workings. This is the same depth to which Penoles mined on
the adjacent Gutierrez mine with mineralization still open to depth.
Bruce Winfield, President and CEO of Defiance stated, "It will
be very exciting to see the results of this first systematic testing of the
depth potential for mineralization at San Acacio. This is the lowest
risk/highest reward portion of the exploration potential at San Acacio."
