NEW YORK, Dec. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- McCann Worldgroup won two Grand Prix and 20 additional awards at the 2014 Eurobest Awards held in Helsinki, the largest awards show that recognizes European advertising. The Cyranos//McCann in Barcelona, one of McCann's six European offices that took home prizes, won 11 awards in addition to its two Grand Prix, ranking it second in the award show's Agency of the Year category.
Overall, the McCann network ranked third among global networks in awards won. In addition to The Cyranos//McCann, the other McCann Worldgroup Europe offices taking top awards included McCann Bucharest (1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze), McCann London (1 Silver), McCann Copenhagen (1 Silver), McCann Oslo (2 Bronze), and Prime Group Stockholm (2 Bronze).
"We're pleased that so many agencies from across the region contributed to our recognition this year, highlighted by the tremendous success of our Cyranos//McCann team." said Rob Reilly, Global Creative Chairman, McCann Worldgroup.
The Cyranos//McCann, a McCann global creative hub based in Barcelona, won its many awards primarily for its highly innovative "Pay Per Laugh" campaign for the Barcelona theater Teatreneu. This included the 2 Grand Prix and 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 4 Bronze across 9 separate categories. This much-awarded campaign, including at Cannes earlier this year, most recently led to Cyranos//McCann being named "Agency of the Year" at the 2014 El Ojo de Iberoamerica Awards.
