On November 3rd, Mr. Brian Forster joined LifeLabs as the Senior Vice President of Information Technology & Chief Information Officer. On December 15th, Dr. Ronald Carter joined LifeLabs as the Director, Molecular Genetics Laboratory.
Mr. Forster has extensive experience developing and executing business and information technology strategies in the health care, financial services, education and energy industries. Most recently, he was CEO at OntarioMD where he led the delivery of Ontario's EMR Adoption program involving over 11,000 Ontario community physicians.
As Senior Vice President of Information Technology & CIO Mr. Forster will lead LifeLabs' continued innovation and excellence in lab sector technology and will broaden LifeLabs' e-health strategy. In addition to being a member of LifeLabs' Executive Leadership Team, Mr. Forster will join the Board of Directors of Excelleris, LifeLabs' technology subsidiary.

Dr. Carter will lead the LifeLabs' genetics team and oversee LifeLabs' new genetics laboratory opening in Toronto in January 2015. Dr. Carter will play a pivotal role in LifeLabs' drive to be Canada's leader in genetic testing. Dr. Carter will work with academic, industry and public partners to transform emergent technologies into meaningful genetic services that will inform diagnosis, prognosis and treatment.

Dr. Carter has extensive experience in diagnostic genetics, most recently as Director of Laboratory Genetic Services and Head of Cancer Genetics for the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program. He has specialty certifications in both molecular genetics and cytogenetics. He has provided consulting support to multiple hospitals and served on numerous provincial and federal advisory committees, and has been active in training undergraduate medical students as well as postdoctoral fellows and medical residents at McMaster University.
