Guidance
Software, (NASDAQ:GUID), the World Leader in Digital
Investigations™, today announced the company has been named the
estimated 2013 market share leader by Gartner for Endpoint Detection and
Response (EDR) tools in its recent Competitive Landscape Report1.
The research examines critical EDR customer buying behaviors, solution
use cases and technologies that product managers and marketing
professionals must consider.
Many organizations have conceded that their traditional anti-malware
defenses have failed and that a new strategy must be created to identify
these breaches at the endpoint. A significant number of recent data
breaches from advanced forms of malware have increased client interest
in EDR tools.
The EDR market is an emerging security technology market created to
satisfy the need for continuous detection and response to advanced
threats—most notably to significantly improve security monitoring,
threat detection and incident response capabilities.
“Building on a long and rich history in endpoint investigations
solutions, Guidance Software delivers market-leading endpoint security
that meets the demands of the current risk landscape to quickly uncover
and remediate difficult to find that threats, wherever they reside,”
said Barry Plaga, acting CEO for Guidance Software. “We believe this
recognition is a testament to our hard work in delivering a solution
that is well positioned to serve enterprises and government agencies
looking to mitigate malware targeted at the endpoint.”
EnCase security solutions deliver endpoint threat detection and breach
response capabilities that detect, validate and prioritize unknown and
undetected threats, assess the scope and impact of a compromise, and
return devices to a trusted state.
