American National Selects Guidewire System for Billing Management

GWRE

American National Insurance Company, a national Property/Casualty (P/C) insurer, and Guidewire Software, Inc. (NYSE:GWRE), a provider of software products to P/C insurers, today announced that they have selected Guidewire BillingCenter® to manage their billing operations across all of their Property & Casualty lines of business. The selection follows the company’s deployment of Guidewire ClaimCenter® last year.

American National selected BillingCenter in an effort to update the technology platform supporting its billing operations and become more responsive to its customers and agents. The company will be able to adapt more quickly to meet customer expectations and marketplace changes related to the billing experience. BillingCenter will also help its field force streamline their billing time and effort by using common systems and practices to simplify its billing and payment processing. The company will first be deploying BillingCenter to its Agriculture and Commercial lines businesses, and will then shift to its Personal lines operations.

“We were looking to consolidate from three billing systems to a single system that would unify all our disparate billing processes and approaches for our policyholders,” said Brian Schaffer, Assistant Vice President, Multiple Line Billing Services, Farm Family Casualty Insurance Company. “We recently deployed ClaimCenter so the common architecture and positive experience with Guidewire was a key factor in our selection of Billing Center. We feel BillingCenter will offer the flexibility our clients require as well as provide proper automated internal controls.”

BillingCenter will enable American National to:

  • Increase account billing usage based on policyholder choice, “Easy-Pay” (electronic funds transfer) utilization rate, and customer retention;
  • Support common billing best practices; and
  • Reduce the amount of uncollected earned premium.

“We are honored that American National has extended their relationship with us through the selection of BillingCenter,” said Steve Sherry, group vice president, Americas Sales, Guidewire Software. “We look forward to working with them on transforming their billing processes and providing high levels of service to their customers and agents.”

Guidewire BillingCenter® is a comprehensive billing and receivables management system built on the core design principles of automation, control and flexibility. BillingCenter allows you to deliver insurance your way by making it easier to automate the billing lifecycle; design flexible billing, payment and delinquency plans; manage agent commissions; and enable rapid integration with external payment systems. BillingCenter is available as a standalone system or as part of Guidewire InsuranceSuite™, and can be integrated to a Property/Casualty insurer’s legacy systems or third party applications.
