More than $15 million donated over the past five years

MONTREAL, Jan. 13, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - National Bank is proud to contribute to the success of the 37th Centraide/United Way campaign with a donation of $3.04 million. This amount represents donations made by thousands of current and retired Bank employees across Canada, as well as a corporate donation from National Bank.

This year, the Bank once again participated in the Centraide Soccer Cup held in Montreal, which it won for a second consecutive year. By participating in this event and many others, Bank representatives demonstrate their deep commitment to the community.

"National Bank's employees and retired employees take great pride in responding to the needs of communities, and the annual campaign benefiting Centraide/United Way is a perfect example of this," stated Louis Vachon, President and CEO of National Bank.

Centraide/United Way derives most of its funding from corporate fundraising campaigns like the one organized by the Bank each year. The substantial donation will enable organizations to improve the quality of life of those struggling with poverty and exclusion, and help build stronger communities.

Every year, through its donations and sponsorships program and the initiatives of its employees, National Bank supports hundreds of organizations across Canada. It is particularly committed to supporting health, education, entrepreneurship and community outreach, with the goal of generating positive benefits for communities.
