Pangolin Discovers a Second Diamond Area Malatswae, Botswana

V.PAN.H

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 13, 2015) -

Highlights

  • Octahedral diamond recovered in regional soil sample MAL-157;
  • Fourth and largest diamond recovered to date at Malatswae;
  • From a second, separate area within the Malatswae project.

Pangolin Diamonds Corp. (TSX VENTURE:PAN) (the "Company" or "Pangolin") announces that it has recovered its fourth and largest diamond at the Malatswae project (100% owned).

Previously Pangolin reported the recovery of three diamonds from soil samples approximately 13km to the southeast of this new discovery. (see PAN news release 15 September 2014). The location of this fourth diamond, relative to the previous discoveries, signifies that Pangolin has discovered a second separate area of interest within the Malatswae project. Details of the diamond are tabulated below:

Sample Soil Sample Weight (kg) Number of Diamonds Sieve Size
mm square mesh
Weight
carats
MAL-157 20 1 1.18 - 1.70 0.02

The diamond was recognized by an independent observer in Botswana during routine kimberlite indicator mineral observation, and confirmed by MCC Geoscience as an octahedron. The diamond was subsequently submitted to C. F. Mineral Research for size determination and weighing, where it was also confirmed using a scanning electron microscope.

A photo of the four diamonds and an aeromagnetic image of the Malatswae project area with their locations is available at: http://wp.me/P4A7nq-i Pangolin's soil sampling team has returned to the area to collect additional samples, and results will be reported as they become available.
