OTTAWA, Jan. 16, 2015 /CNW/ - Clearford Water Systems Inc. ("Clearford" or the "Company"), (TSXV: CLI), and the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewage Board (GWSSB) today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to forge a strategic partnership to bring Clearford's proprietary all-in-one wastewater collection and treatment system (Clearford One™) to rural regions of the State of Gujarat. The MOU was signed on January 12th in Ahmedabad at the 2015 Vibrant Gujarat Summit.

GWSSB is a statutory body of the State of Gujarat established for development, regulation and control of the water and sanitation sector in the State. The Board's mandate is to prepare, execute, promote and finance projects for supply of water and for sewage collection and disposal for rural villages.

Speaking about the signing, Canada's Minister of Labour and the Status of Women, Dr. K. Minister Leitch is attending Vibrant Gujarat 2015, where Canada is a partner country.

Under the terms of the Agreement, GWSSB will facilitate Clearford's system for use in Gujarat. This will include assisting Clearford in identifying a village for a demonstration site and obtaining all necessary permissions, registrations, clearances and approvals to install Clearford OneTM in the State of Gujarat.

"We are looking forward to working with the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board in addressing the challenges they face with waste water collection and treatment throughout rural Gujarat, we believe Clearford OneTM will make a significant contribution to addressing these challenges" said Clearford's President & CEO Kevin Loiselle, speaking from Ottawa, Canada".
