The
Shuman Law Firm announces that it is investigating potential claims
against certain officers and directors of Hertz Global Holdings, Inc.
(“Hertz” or the “Company”) (NYSE: HTZ).
Hertz is a Florida-based company that provides rental car services
worldwide.
The Firm’s investigation relates to Hertz’ announced financial
restatement. In June of 2014, Hertz announced that it was conducting an
internal investigation into its previous financial records and it would
need to restate its 2011 financial results. Thereafter, on November 14,
2014, Hertz announced that it would need to restate its 2012 and 2013
financial results. Hertz has yet to make public the results of its
internal investigation and it has not filed any updated financial
results with the Securities Exchange Commission as of January 13, 2015.
According to an Audit Analytics analyst who was quoted in an October 19,
2014 News Press article,
“[v]ery few companies have ever had a restatement that looks as severe
or as material as what Hertz appears to be facing.”
Hertz shares closed on January 2, 2014 at $28.68 per share. As of
January 13, 2015, Hertz shares were trading at less than $23.00 per
share, or a drop of approximately 20%. This corresponds to a decrease of
more than one billion dollars of market capitalization over the past
calendar year.
