OKLAHOMA CITY, Feb. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SandRidge Energy, Inc. (NYSE: SD) today announced the appointment of J. Mike Stice to the board of directors. Mr. Stice has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry including leadership roles at ConocoPhillips and most recently as the Chief Executive Officer of Access Midstream Partners, L.P. from July 2010 until its merger with Williams Partners L.P. in December 2014.

Prior to his role at Access Midstream Partners, L.P., Mr. Stice served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Chesapeake Midstream Development, L.P., and as Senior Vice President – Natural Gas Projects of Chesapeake Energy. Before joining Chesapeake in 2008, Mr. Stice spent 27 years with ConocoPhillips and its predecessor companies, where he most recently served as President of ConocoPhillips Qatar, responsible for the development, management and construction of natural gas liquefaction and regasification (LNG) projects. While at ConocoPhillips, he also served as Vice President of Global Gas LNG, as President of Gas and Power and as President of Conoco Energy Solutions in addition to other roles in ConocoPhillips' upstream and midstream business units. Mr. Stice serves on the Boards of Directors of the Southern Gas Association and U.S. Silica Holdings, Inc. Mr. Stice received his chemical engineering degree in 1981 from the University of Oklahoma, a master's degree in business from Stanford University in 1995 and an international director's diploma from Queensland University in 1997. In 2011, he completed his doctorate of education at The George Washington University.
