TORONTO, Feb. 5, 2015 /CNW/ - TMX Group today announced its financing activity on Toronto Stock Exchange and TSX Venture Exchange for January 2015.

Toronto Stock Exchange welcomed 6 new issuers in January 2015, unchanged from December 2014 and January 2014. The new listings included 5 exchange traded funds and 1 industrial company. Total financings raised in January 2015 decreased 24% compared to the previous month, and decreased 65% compared to January 2014. The total number of financings in January 2015 was 29, compared with 64 in the previous month, and 46 in January 2014.

TSX Venture Exchange welcomed 4 new issuers in January 2015, unchanged from the previous month, and down from 6 in January 2014. The new listings included 2 companies from the Capital Pool Company program, 1 life sciences company and 1 biotech company. Total financings raised decreased 42% from the previous month, and increased 41% from January 2014. There were 135 financings in January 2015, compared with 145 in the previous month, and 163 in January 2014.
