WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - February 19, 2015) - JetBlue Airways (NASDAQ: JBLU) today encouraged winter-weary Washingtonians to think about summer vacation when the airline announced new seasonal service from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) to Nantucket, Mass. (ACK). The new non-stop route will launch June 19, 2015, and operate on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through September 6, 2015. Additional flights will be added for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Nantucket marks the 12th non-stop destination from Reagan National, where JetBlue has steadily increased its presence since it started serving the close-in Washington airport in 2010.
"We are excited to add yet another non-stop flight to our growing list of destinations from Reagan National, particularly one that features the sea and sand amid this week's snow and freezing temperatures," said Robert Land, JetBlue's Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Associate General Counsel. "Customers in the D.C.-area love the convenience of this airport, and now we will provide them with a direct route to one of the most popular summer destinations in the Northeast."
Flights will be operated on JetBlue's 100-seat Embraer E190. It is the largest aircraft to serve Nantucket Memorial Airport and features spacious two-by-two seating, the most legroom in coach (a), free DIRECTV® programming, more than 100 channels of free SiriusXM® satellite radio (b), unlimited free snacks and soft drinks, and JetBlue's award-winning in-flight customer service.
