Shake Shack to Heat Up Boston with Two New Area Locations, Opening Sunday, March 1st and Monday, March 2nd

SHAK

The Burgers are coming! The Burgers are coming! Shake Shack Inc. (“Shake Shack” or the “Company”) (NYSE:SHAK) is proud to announce the opening of two new Boston-area locations: the first in Legacy Place at Dedham, a premiere entertainment and dining destination in Greater Boston on Sunday, March 1st; the second at 234-236 Newbury Street in Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood on Monday, March 2nd. Both Shacks fire up the griddles at 11 AM.

Shake Shack® is a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers (no hormones added ever), griddled-crisp flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, and more. A fun, lively, fine-casual restaurant with widespread appeal, over the past decade Shake Shack has earned a cult-like following around the world.

The newest additions to the Shake Shack family follow in the auspicious footsteps of our first two Massachusetts locations in Harvard Square and Chestnut Hill. Over the past two years, Bostonians have embraced these Shacks.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the dedicated Shack fans who voted us 'Best Burger' in the Boston Magazine Reader’s Choice poll last year. Our teams in Chestnut Hill and Harvard Square have worked tirelessly to bring our best day in and day out,” said Shake Shack CEO Randy Garutti. “We’re thrilled to deepen our roots in Boston on Newbury Street and in Dedham’s Legacy Place, two of the region’s great community gathering places.”

In addition to all the Shake Shack classics, both the Newbury Street and Dedham Shacks will offer a selection of location-specific frozen custard concretes. The Dedham Shack’s selection will include Wicked Crunchie (vanilla frozen custard blended with salted caramel sauce, shattered sugar cookie cone, and banana) and Shack Attack (chocolate frozen custard blended with fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough, Mast Brothers Shake Shack dark chocolate chunks, and chocolate sprinkles), a classic Shack fan favorite that originated at Shake Shack’s flagship location in NYC’s Madison Square Park.

The Newbury Shack menu will feature NewBERRY (Vanilla custard blended with strawberry jam, cheesecake blondie, and cinnamon sugar) as well as the aptly named Back Bay Blend (chocolate frozen custard blended with peanut butter sauce, chocolate toffee, and chocolate sprinkles).

Both locations will feature the Whoopie Pie oh My (vanilla frozen custard blended with a piece of chocolate whoopee pie made exclusively for Shake Shack by hyper-local South End Buttery).

The new Dedham Shack will quench shoppers’ thirst with draft root bear by Abita and seasonal Shack lemonades, while the Newbury Street Shack will feature an expanded beverage menu, including our exclusive Brooklyn Brewery ShackMeister Ale, Shack White and Shack Red wines, and rotating seasonal draft beers.

As part of its community outreach efforts and commitment to Stand For Something Good®, the Dedham Shack will donate 5% of sales from the Whoopie Pie oh My concrete to Project Bread, Massachusetts’s only statewide anti-hunger organization that provides sustainable, reliable access to healthy food. Similarly, the same percentage of sales from the Newbury Street Shack’s Back Bay Blend will benefit Youth Link, a local organization that empowers Boston’s at-risk youth through creative partnerships with civic leaders.

In keeping with Shake Shack’s commitment to green architecture and eco-friendly construction, the interior walls of both Shacks are clad in reclaimed wood from local sources—church pews from St. Mary’s church in Dedham and cedar ceiling panels from Newbury Street’s local Boys and Girls Club of Watertown—and both Shacks feature energy-efficient kitchen equipment and lighting. Booths are made from lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, and tabletops are made from reclaimed bowling alley lanes hand-crafted in Brooklyn, NY.
