Kohl's Funds More Than $1 Million in Field Trips for Milwaukee-Area Schools

KSS

Kohl’s Department Stores (NYSE: KSS) today announced the third year of the Kohl’s Cares Field Trip Grant Program, giving more than $1 million in funding to schools throughout the metro-Milwaukee area.

“The Kohl’s Cares Field Trip Grant Program is providing access to some of Milwaukee’s best-in-class educational destinations by offering field trips to metro-Milwaukee schools without the added cost,” said Bevin Bailis, Kohl’s senior vice president, communications and public relations. “We have long been committed to children’s education initiatives, and we are proud to help children learn and grow through valuable, experiential learning opportunities here in our hometown.”

The program allows school groups to visit Kohl’s partner organizations including, Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, Discovery World, Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Milwaukee County Zoo. Grants valued up to $1,000 each will be provided to eligible schools on a first-come, first-serve basis February 27 through March 27, 2015 or until the funds have been fully depleted. The Kohl’s grants cover field trip expenses such as admission fees, transportation, substitute teacher fees and materials required for the experience.

The Program is open only to accredited Kindergarten (5K) - 12th grade public schools or non-profit private schools with either an NCES ID Number or with Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) status, in the following counties in Wisconsin: Dodge, Jefferson, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha.
