TORONTO, March 5, 2015 /CNW/ - CSI: CYBER got off to an electric start last night on CTV, winning Wednesday with 2 million viewers logging into the debut episode and becoming the most-watched mid-season series premiere since MISSING in 2012, preliminary overnight data from Numeris (BBM Canada) confirms. Headlined by recent Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette (Boyhood) along with James Van Der Beek and Shad Moss (ENTOURAGE), CSI: CYBER was the #1 program Wednesday night with total viewers, A18-49, and A18-34, leading SURVIVOR (CBS/Global) in total viewers (+7%), A18-34 (+43%), and A18-49 (+1%). With final data still to come, CSI: CYBER becomes one of the most-watched new TV series of the year. Last night's CSI: CYBER premiere is available on demand on CTV.ca and CTV GO.

In next week's new episode of CSI: CYBER entitled "CMND:\Crash" (Wednesday, March 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV), Agent Avery Ryan (Patricia Arquette) and her cyber team investigate a roller coaster crash caused by someone who found a way to hack into the ride's internal computer.

Tonight at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, viewers can look forward to the series premiere of gritty drama AMERICAN CRIME. One of the most-anticipated debuts of the season, the intense crime-thriller is already a hit with critics. "The 11-part series is like nothing seen in recent years," said John Doyle in The Globe and Mail. "It's substantial in intent, serious, searing at times in examining toxic issues of race, religion and class." Hank Stuever in The Washington Post wrote, "I can't remember the last time a network drama had my rapt attention and respect on this many levels at once," while Alessandra Stanley in The New York Times said "This is an ABC drama that is not just good, it's startlingly good, as bracing in its own way as TRUE DETECTIVE was on HBO last year."
