WEX Inc. (NYSE: WEX), a leading provider of corporate payment solutions,
today announced that its president and chief executive officer, Melissa
Smith, and senior vice president of corporate development, Nicola
Morris, will speak at the PYMNTS.com Innovation Project 2015, a two-day
gathering of the movers and shakers within the payments and commerce
industry. Themed “Innovation at the Intersection,” this year’s event
will take place on March 18 and March 19 at Harvard University in
Cambridge, Mass.
Smith, as recipient of the inaugural 2014 Women Driving Payments
Innovation Award by PYMNTS and W.net, will be presenting the award to
the 2015 honoree at the event’s closing dinner gala on March 19.
Additionally, Smith will serve on the conference’s “From Payments to
Commerce” panel on March 18 at 11:00 a.m. ET, where she will discuss
WEX’s focus on helping customers better manage their businesses by
providing rich data collection and payment solutions, rather than the
payment itself. WEX’s payments innovation strategy pivots around its
unique industry perspective, which is rooted in its ability to
communicate both with consumers and merchants.
Morris will collaborate and compete with fellow payments leaders on
March 18, to solve the industry’s most vexing questions as a
“Think-a-Thon” participant. Topics to analyze include financial
inclusion, cybersecurity and real-time payments. The teams will propose
solutions to this year’s panel of judges on March 19 at 10:15 a.m. ET.
The Innovation Project is a prestigious industry event that convenes the
top established players, emerging disruptors and entrepreneurial
visionaries in the world of payments.
