NEW YORK, March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Grace Institute, a 118-year-old market leader in workforce development in New York City, will hold their annual suit drive, Dress with Grace, on Tuesday, March 24, at Citi's Tribeca offices in honor of Women's History Month and International Women's Day. Citi is one of Grace Institute's largest employer partners and places many Grace Institute graduates in administrative and customer support positions, particularly as bank tellers.
Dress with Grace will provide 130 Grace Institute participants, women ages 18-65, with the professional attire needed to be successful in the workplace. A majority of the professional attire has been donated by Citi employees.
Founded in 1897, Grace Institute empowers underserved women in the New York area to achieve employment and self-sufficiency by providing skills training, counseling, placement services and continuous learning opportunities. Grace is one of the only workforce programs serving exclusively women in New York City. The organization places 80% of its graduates in jobs within one year.
With the help of Citi Women, Grace participants will have the opportunity to sort through hundreds of pieces of new and gently-used professional attire and keep those that will serve as the foundation of their professional wardrobe. They will also spend the day networking with Citi volunteers, who will serve as their personal stylists.
Grace Institute's mission is to empower unemployed and underemployed women in New York. "Citi recognizes that providing women with the work wear needed to feel comfortable and confident on a job interview and beyond is critical. Through their work with the Grace Institute, these women are equipped with the tools that they need to succeed," said Suni Harford, Head of North American Markets for Citi.
Dress with Grace, hosted by Citi and Citi Women, will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 24th at the Citi Greenwich Street location. Visit www.graceinstitute.org for general details. For Press inquiries, contact Jessica James at Grace Institute, 212-832-7605 x164 or jjames@graceinstitute.org.
