Pieces Autographed by NCAA Coaches Auctioned to Fight Cancer

ATLANTA, April 2, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- United Parcel Service (NYSE: UPS), the official logistics provider of the NCAA, launched 'Courts for a Cause'- an ambitious program combining UPS's logistical strength and a nation of fervent collegiate basketball fans to raise funds to fight cancer during the men's and women's NCAA Final Four® Tournaments.

After shipping 132 court pieces to the 68 men's and 64 women's NCAA Division I coaches for their autographs, UPS collected and assembled the signed pieces into replicas of both the men's and women's Final Four Connor Courts.

The on-site consumer activation at the NCAA Tournament will showcase a 24-foot-long replicas of the men's and women's Final Four courts. The courts will be adorned with the signatures of the collegiate coaches and be on display at the Fan Fest events in both Indianapolis and Tampa.

Autographed pieces of the men's and women's courts are being auctioned on eBay through April 10 at 2 p.m., with proceeds going towards Coaches vs. Cancer (Men's) and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund (Women's), respectively.

"The 'Courts for a Cause' program allows us to tap our uniquely human logistics network in a meaningful way," said Ron Rogowski, UPS VP of Global Brand and Sponsorship. "We hope to give college basketball fans a chance to purchase a piece of history - all in the name of a good cause."

The 'Courts for a Cause' program is one element of UPS' multipronged effort to bring the NCAA Tournament to life which includes the launch of the new "United Problems Solvers" brand campaign and the 6.3  million pound delivery of Final Four components including the actual Connor Courts for both championships, thousands of additional stadium seats and the official event merchandise.
