CARMEL, Ind., April 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bankers Life, a national life and health insurance brand of CNO Financial Group, is once again partnering with the Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter to plant seeds of hope and raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease.
Bankers Life's annual
Forget Me Not Days
event, "Alzheimer's Awareness Night," will tip off on Sunday, April 12, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The first 5,000 fans arriving at the Indiana Pacers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder game will receive a packet of Forget-Me-Not flower seeds to plant at home in honor of Indiana's Alzheimer's patients and their families.
An estimated 5.3 million Americans – including 110,000 Hoosiers – live with Alzheimer's disease, and those numbers are projected to increase exponentially, according to the Alzheimer's Association.
"Bankers Life is proud of its long-standing support and partnership with the Alzheimer's Association," said Scott Goldberg, president of Bankers Life. "Through events like Forget Me Not Days, we aim to raise awareness and funds to support the association's mission for Alzheimer's care, support and research."
"Alzheimer's disease is far-reaching, and Forget Me Not Days are a wonderful tribute to the individuals and families who struggle with the disease daily," said Leah Shattuck, communications director of the Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter. "Through Alzheimer's Awareness Night, Bankers Life sponsors a fun and effective way to spread awareness of Alzheimer's disease in the community."
Since 2003, Bankers Life has supported the Alzheimer's Association with more than $3.7 million for care, education and research programs, including collecting and donating more than $436,000 last year alone.
