Hilton Worldwide announced today that it was named one of DiversityInc’s
annual Top 50 Companies for Diversity, and one of the Top
10 Companies for Supplier Diversity.
“Diversity and inclusion are part of our DNA at Hilton,” said
Christopher J. Nassetta, president and CEO, Hilton Worldwide. “Like our
hotels, our workforce is global, and our success is driven by the
passion and motivation of our teams. Our culture and diversity in all
its forms around the world makes our organization strong and drives
better results.”
“This prestigious award is a tremendous accomplishment that recognizes
our commitment to making diversity part of Hilton’s legacy,” said Matt
Schuyler, chief human resource officer. “Our teams are truly
inspirational in the purpose-driven work they do to create welcoming and
inclusive work environments, and to foster the same stewardship to
create amazing experiences for our guests.”
“Hilton Worldwide moves onto the DiversityInc Top 50 with excellent
employee resource groups, including a group for veterans and their
spouses,” said DiversityInc CEO Luke Visconti. “Diversity efforts start
at the top and Hilton’s CEO, Chris Nassetta, has been a key force in
leading the diversity and inclusion initiative.”
DiversityInc Top 50 companies have significantly more diversity than
average American corporations. Compared with Equal Employment
Opportunity Commission (EEOC) statistics, Top 50 companies have 20
percent more Blacks, Latinos, and Asians in management, and 13 percent
more women according to DiversityInc.
CNBC covered the DiversityInc Top 50 event and provided the stock market
econometric evaluation. “The Top 50 list outperformed the market on a
short and long-term basis, which has been the case over the past several
years. This shows evidence of the link between excellence in diversity
management and superior corporate governance,” said Visconti.
