Awards Applaud Businesses with Exemplary Ethics that are Examples for Others

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 28, 2015) - Contractor Connection® has been named a winner of the 2014 regional Florida Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Awards for Ethics. Contractor Connection's Bill DiGiovanni, assistant vice president of customer service, and James Shefelbine, vice president of marketing, accepted the award on the Company's behalf.

The goal of the awards, given to three recipients representing small, medium and large business sizes, is to applaud businesses with exemplary ethics and to hold these businesses up as examples for others in the marketplace. Contractor Connection received the award in the large-sized business category with 51 or more employees.

"Contractor Connection has developed a culture and workflow process to ensure a consistent customer experience that meets and oftentimes exceeds the customer expectations when it comes to restoration and renovation projects to their homes," Contractor Connection CEO Larry Thomas said. "This unique business operating out of Jacksonville has grown into the industry leader for insurance restoration, and has recently expanded into the consumer home improvement market, offering free contractor referral services to consumers."

In the fall of 2014, the BBB serving Northeast Florida and the southeast Atlantic solicited nominations for the inaugural Torch Award for Ethics, and the response was overwhelming.

"We were gratified by the applications we received, but even more gratified by the commitment to business ethics chronicled by those applications," said Tom Stephens, president and CEO of the BBB serving northeast Florida and the southeast Atlantic.

The BBB serving northeast Florida and the southeast Atlantic celebrated the three recipients of the 2014 BBB Torch Award for Ethics, along with the finalists and all the qualifying nominees, at a celebration luncheon held at the Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront hotel on April 9. The celebration included the awards presentation by representatives from the University of North Florida Small Business and Development Center.
