CALGARY, May 8, 2015 /CNW/ - Big Rock Brewery Inc. (TSX: BR) announced Friday its Alberta Genuine Draft lager has a new look and a new limited-time 360 degree pop top lid innovation. The packaging features a matte cream coloured can with a red AGD logo.
AGD is an all-natural, batch brewed lager made in Alberta. It's craft brewed using Big Rock's own special yeast, and Nugget and Willamette hops. It pours a clear, pale golden yellow with an ABV of 5.0 %. There are no additives, it's unpasteurized, and is a pure malt beer proudly brewed in Alberta.
As for that lid… instead of cracking open a small hole on the top of the can, the 360 pop top lets you completely remove the top, creating an aluminum beer cup. The flavours and aromas of the beer become much more apparent. The removable lid is 100% recyclable.
Paul Gautreau, Big Rock Brewmaster and VP of Operations says some adjustments had to be made at the can filler to accommodate the different lids, supplied by Crown Beverage Packaging. "We wanted to try it. That's what we do here. We're not afraid to try something new and we're willing to go through a little trial and error to get our customer a new innovation. We look forward to hearing what AGD drinkers think," says Gautreau.
AGD and AGD Light are available in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. To find out exactly where, you can follow us on Twitter (@BigRockBrewery) and Facebook for the latest updates. Also check out our Beer finder at bigrockbeer.com.
