In addition to the recognition, Regions donates $1,000 in the name of
the recipient to a nonprofit organization of the winner’s choice. Beem
chose the Boys and Girls Club of Clinton County, where she serves as a
mentor. A
video of Beem is available on the Regions
Financial YouTube channel.
Beem takes pride in helping her mortgage customers achieve the American
dream. “For a lot of people, it’s their first home purchase and not
everyone has excellent credit,” she said. “But I listen as they tell me
their story, and over time, I help them establish good credit.”
“Nikki really goes the extra mile to see her customers get what they
need,” said Frank Haig, Regions Mortgage Production Manager for Indiana.
“Her main motivation is putting them in a better place than where they
were when they came to see her.”
Beem gets as much joy out of seeing children succeed. She works
one-on-one with struggling students at Suncrest Elementary School,
helping them learn how to read. She also gives children at the Boys and
Girls Club her undivided attention and recently raised $60,000 for the
center by going door-to-door in the community. “I’ve been able to help
several kids there on an individual basis,” said Beem. “They become part
of your family.”
Beem is perhaps best known for her passion for restoring dilapidated
buildings around Frankfort to the neighborhood jewels they once were.
For years, she has fixed up old homes, historic landmarks and
streetscapes. The mayor of Frankfort appointed her to the city’s
redevelopment commission.
“It’s really great to be such an integral part of reawakening the
community I love so much,” said Beem. “It really feels good when you can
take a home that has fallen into disrepair and bring it back from the
dead. I’m helping to build the community, one house at a time.”
Beem is a two-term past president for her local United Way. She helped
raise a record-setting $950,000 for the group. She also formed a
financial education partnership between Regions, Junior Achievement and
the Frankfort school system, and participates in a number of Regions
volunteer projects – including the bank’s annual 500 Festival Education
Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
