EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - June 3, 2015) - Donald Lowry, Chairman of the Board for Capital Power Corporation (TSX:CPX) (Capital Power or the Company) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Huntington to the Company's Board of Directors effective today.
Ms. Huntington will stand for election along with Jill Gardiner, who was also recently appointed, at Capital Power's next annual meeting of shareholders. As of the date of this news release, Capital Power's Board of Directors consists of 10 directors, 9 of whom are independent.
Ms. Huntington is the President and Chief Executive Officer for Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL), a position she has held since 2013, and is a Board member for the company. Previously, she was the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at IPL. Ms. Huntington holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
