PARIS AIR SHOW, Paris, June 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- UTC Aerospace Systems has announced plans to establish regional material distribution sites around the world in 2015 to enhance service and support for its airline customers. The sites will initially provide operators with critical aircraft on ground (AOG) and reliability hardware for key programs, including the Boeing 787, Airbus A350, and A320NEO. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The regional distribution centers will serve customers in Europe, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East with material to supplement inventories of operators who have fully provisioned their fleets.
"UTC Aerospace Systems has established one of the broadest support networks in the industry with roughly 60 customer service locations around the world because we see the value in being near our customers," said Jim Patrick, vice president of Commercial Aviation, Customer Service. "By placing materials closer to the customer through these regional distribution centers, we will enhance service levels while also helping airlines and MRO sites maintain lower inventory costs."
The first regional distribution site is scheduled to open this summer in the Netherlands.
