Sherritt International Corporation ("Sherritt") (TSX: S) announced today that it has appointed David Bacon to the position of Senior Vice President. David will join Sherritt on September 9, 2015 and will become Chief Financial Officer on November 2, 2015 following the announcement of the company's third quarter results. Dean Chambers, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will ensure a smooth transition prior to retiring from the company on March 31, 2016. David, who will be based in Toronto, will provide leadership in all areas of financial management and reporting, Information Technology, Corporate Development and Investor Relations.
Currently the Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer for Canada Cartage, David brings strong technical accounting skills and extensive financing and M&A experience. Prior to joining Canada Cartage in 2010, David held a number of senior finance roles in Canadian companies. David is a Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) and holds the ICD.D designation. He has a Bachelor's degree from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University.
