TORONTO, July 30, 2015 /CNW/ - After frantically scrambling to find a lost passport, the race came to a halt for Hamilton Elliot and Michaelia Drever in their home province in tonight's episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA. The Centreville, N.S.-based engaged couple had multiple setbacks, including their own personal detour, when Hamilton realized he left his passport on the plane. They were eliminated from the race after arriving last at the Pit Stop in Halifax's Seaport Farmer's Market.

Host Jon Montgomery greeted them at the Pit Stop, saying, "Hamilton, on behalf of Canadians and myself, thank you for being brave enough to be yourself."

"I live every day the way that I want to, and I want transgender people to feel okay with being who they are, to come out and say 'okay, this is me,'" said Hamilton.

"I had Hamilton (by my side) this entire race, and I couldn't ask for anything better," said an emotional Michaelia.

Hamilton added, "Sharing this experience with someone I love is the best experience of my life."

Episode 304 Recap
The nine remaining teams travelled more than 8,000 kilometres from Buenos Aires, Argentina back home to Canada to Halifax. While on a layover in Toronto, teams sidled up to Hamilton and Michaelia, in hopes of being given the final Express Pass. Ultimately, Hamilton and Michaelia chose to give the Express Pass to fellow East Coast racers Brent and Sean. Hamilton, a transgender man, also felt that the brothers, both gay, shared similar experiences as him, having grown up in a small town and feeling judged by their peers.

Once teams touched down in Halifax, they raced to the new Halifax Central Library, where they had to scan local artist Cliff Eyland's "5,000 Paintings" project to locate black and white smartphone photos from the original Halifax Library. Then, the Road Block had racers climb a terrifying 340 feet to the top of the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge to search for the next clue with binoculars. At the Road Block, a frantic Hamilton and Michaelia realized Hamilton lost his passport, and began scrambling to retrieve it. Meanwhile, at the Halifax Public Gardens, teams had to taste test five Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies and correctly identify their flavours. For the Detour, teams had to choose between bubbles or suds. At bubbles, teams headed to the Aquatron at Dalhousie University and had to dive, band, and tag four live lobsters. At suds, teams had to make Garrison Brewing Company beer deliveries to three local iconic pubs along the steep streets of downtown Halifax. Dujean and Leilani, a Halifax native, arrived first at the Pit Stop at the Farmer's Market, winning the leg. Host Jon Montgomery greeted them with their leg prize - round-trip tickets from Air Canada to any of their 15 Caribbean destinations, plus 2.5 million Petro-Points each from Petro-Canada.
