Sam's Club Set to Open in Madison Thursday

Sam’s Club associates and managers will join with local residents and officials to open the company’s newly relocated club at 257 Grandview Blvd. in Madison this Thursday, August 6 following a 10 a.m. grand opening ceremony.

”We are so excited to begin operation at our beautiful new facility,” said Club Manager David Speer. “Our new location is 11,000 square feet larger than previous, contains an expanded produce area and a newly-designed Health and Wellness Center, featuring a Sam’s Club Hearing Aid Center. Our members are going to love it.”

New club gives $10,000 to local nonprofits

The grand opening celebration will focus on the company’s commitment to being a club of the community. Sam’s Club associates selected several local nonprofit organizations to receive $10,000 in community giving grants. Grant award winners include:

• Liberty Park
• National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Central MS
• Special Olympics Madison
• Mississippi SIDS Alliance & Infant Safety

“Giving back is a part of the Sam’s Club tradition and our associates are excited to be able to help such worthy organizations,” said Speer. “It’s another reason to be proud to work at Sam’s Club.”

Last year, Sam’s Club and Walmart stores in Mississippi provided $14.9 million dollars in cash and in-kind donations to nonprofit organizations in the state. These donations represent community grants, food donations and associate volunteer efforts from stores, clubs and the Walmart Foundation.

Grand opening ceremony features local officials, special events

Madison Mayor Mary Hawkins Butler and members of Madison the City Chamber of Commerce will be among those in attendance at Thursday’s grand opening ceremony. The Madison Police Department will post the colors and Sam’s Club associate Tikesha Simmons will perform the national anthem.

Sam’s Club will also showcase a variety of food samples and product demonstrations. Special events include Vitamix Blenders, Chef Shamy Gourmet Butters, Logo Tailgate Event, and Polk’s Meat to name a few.

Pharmacy and Hearing Center among Amenities

The Madison club will have a full-service pharmacy where members and the public can take advantage of great savings on medications they use every day. Free grand opening health screenings will assess cholesterol, blood pressure, vision, hearing and a variety of other wellness areas, and will run Thursday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The new Sam’s Club features a shopper-friendly interior layout and measures approximately 141,000 square feet. Members can rely on fresh produce, quality meats, and home meal solutions among the huge selection of merchandise. The club also boasts an array of service offerings for its members. In addition to the pharmacy, the club also features an Optical department and Hearing Aid Center.
