Piper
Jaffray Companies (NYSE: PJC), today announced that its board of
directors has authorized the repurchase of up to $150 million of the
company’s outstanding common stock, effective August 14, 2015. This
authorization is in addition to the $100 million authorization that
became effective on October 1, 2014, and expires on September 30, 2016,
under which approximately $7.8 million remains available for future
repurchases. The principal purpose of the share repurchase program is to
manage the firm’s equity capital relative to its overall capital
structure and to offset the dilutive effect of employee equity-based
awards. This new share repurchase authorization expires September 30,
2017. As of July 27, 2015, Piper Jaffray Companies had 15.1 million
common shares outstanding.
