WATERLOO, Ontario, Aug. 19, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Descartes Systems Group (Nasdaq:DSGX) (TSX:DSG), the global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, announced that Mohawk Global Logistics is using Descartes' OneView™ Forwarder Enterprise and Customs House Brokerage (CHB) solution to support its market expansion. Mohawk Global will also use Descartes OneView™ solution to submit data to additional Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) via the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).
"Our business has been successfully growing and gaining additional global market share," said Robert Stein, Vice President, Customs & Trade Compliance of Mohawk Global Logistics. "Descartes' OneView™ solution has played a central part in helping our business expand into new locations, offer additional services, and meet evolving customs compliance requirements. As CBP's ACE initiative continues to roll out, we look forward to using Descartes for PGA connectivity and filings."
Descartes OneView™ Forwarder Enterprise helps freight forwarders, non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCCs) and 3PLs, like Mohawk Global Logistics, to efficiently manage shipping and accounting processes. Mohawk Global Logistics also uses Descartes OneView™ Customs House Broker (CHB) to connect to CBP via Descartes Global Logistics Network and manage U.S. customs entries and security filings such as ACE submissions.
ACE was built to provide a centralized, single window for import and export data reporting to CBP and other agencies within the U.S. government. More than a dozen PGAs are scheduled for ACE implementation prior to the mandatory November 1, 2015 ACE entry filing deadline, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
"Descartes continues to enhance its existing technology platform to help leading logistics service providers, like Mohawk Global Logistics, meet evolving regulatory requirements such as the changes to CBP's ACE that include further access to PGAs," said George Manolis, Vice President of OneView Operations at Descartes Systems Group. "We're pleased that our customers will be among the first to realize the potential benefits of ACE as a single window to connect to other agencies within the U.S. government to streamline regulatory compliance processes."
