Serving San Antonio for 30 years, NHS-SA has built 300 new homes, rehabbed over 100 existing homes and processed more than 1,200 loans totaling an estimated $12 million over the last 16 years.
For the past eight years Moen has been committed to supporting affordable housing for Latino families and our veterans through a program called Alcanzando Sueños con Moen ("Achieving Dreams with Moen"). Moen donates state-of-the-art and water-saving kitchen and bathroom fixtures to organizations such as NHS, which help to defray some of the rehab costs that can be used to support other services for the organization. Over a period of two years, Moen will provide NHS-SA energy efficient fixtures for home remodels and new home reconstruction in the San Antonio area.
NHS-SA builds its homes to Build Green San Antonio standards, and always works to improve water and energy efficiencies in every home it rehabilitates. The Alcanzando Sueños con Moen program was launched by Moen Incorporated in 2007 in partnership with the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation, a major nonprofit builder of affordable homes in Chicago. Moen contributes several hundred thousand dollars worth of products annually to affordable housing projects serving predominantly Hispanic communities around the country. The program was expanded two years ago to include veteran organizations that provide affordable housing to vets and their families.
