Juniper Networks (NYSE:JNPR), the industry leader in network innovation,
today announced the appointment of Brian Martin as senior vice
president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Martin will join
Juniper on Oct. 5, 2015 and will serve on the executive leadership team
reporting directly to Juniper Networks’ chief executive officer, Rami
Rahim.
Martin brings nearly 20 years of corporate legal experience in the
technology industry, most recently serving as executive vice president,
general counsel and corporate secretary at KLA-Tencor Corporation. He
also spent 10 years in senior legal positions at Sun Microsystems, Inc.
“Brian has a proven track record of success at companies with deep
engineering cultures and will bring a strong team-oriented approach to
the general counsel role at Juniper,” said Rami Rahim, CEO of Juniper
Networks. “He will also play a pivotal role in Juniper’s innovation
initiatives with his extensive knowledge of IP and patent law. We are
thrilled to welcome Brian to the team.”
As general counsel, Martin will be responsible for providing legal
guidance to Juniper’s executive leadership team and board of directors.
He will also assume responsibility for Juniper’s global legal affairs
and will lead the government affairs and environmental health, safety
and security functions.
Martin succeeds Mitch Gaynor who, in March, announced his plan to leave
his role as general counsel after 11 years with the company. Gaynor will
continue to serve through the transition until mid-October.
“Juniper Networks is continually innovating and driving advances in the
networking industry,” said Martin. “I look forward to joining the
executive leadership team and continuing to uphold Juniper’s commitment
to the ethical and legal achievement of its business objectives.”
