(TSX: VXS), a pioneer and leader in media processing solutions, announces that the ViXS XCode GRD2 platform will power a VIDITY™ compatible player solution showcasing playback of premium content up to full 4K UHD resolution with high dynamic range (HDR) at IBC 2015.
A WD (a Western Digital (NASDAQ: WDC) company) My Passport® Cinema hard drive, a VIDITY-compatible secure storage device, will store 20th Century Fox premium VIDITY content for playback and will connect to the ViXS XCode GRD2 via an USB 3.0 port. The ViXS XCode GRD2 platform will decode the premium content and output the content via a HDMI 2.0a to the new HDR-compatible OLED 4K TV from LG Electronics (Model EF9500).
ViXS will be showcasing the VIDITY solution on the LG OLED TV at IBC 2015, September 11 to 15 in the ViXS meeting room G.104 in the RAI Amsterdam.
VIDITY is the trademark and the branding used by the Secure Content Storage Association (SCSA) for its enabling technology that secures the delivery of premium digital entertainment experiences, including unparalleled and locally stored playback of 4K Ultra HD and HD movies across multiple devices.
