MANHATTAN AND HOUDINI EARN CREATIVE ARTS EMMYS®
SANTA MONICA, Calif., and VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- LIONSGATE ® (NYSE: LGF) television series won a total of four Emmy® Awards at the Primetime and Creative Arts Emmy® ceremonies, led by Jon Hamm's trophy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for MAD MEN and Uzo Aduba's win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK.
Hamm's triumph follows eight consecutive Emmy® nominations for his seminal role as quintessential ad man Don Draper, and Aduba's award marks her second Emmy® win for her performance as the eccentric and unstable Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren, but her first in this category. She is the only actress ever to win an Emmy® in a comedy and drama series for the same role.
At last Saturday's Creative Arts Emmys, Lionsgate's MANHATTAN scored the first Emmy® of the evening with a win for Outstanding Main Title Design and its limited series HOUDINI won the award for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Limited Series, Movie or a Special, Night 1.
"Winning Emmys for four different series underscores the breadth and diversity of our slate," said Lionsgate Television Group Chairman Kevin Beggs. "We congratulate all of our Emmy winners and thank the TV Academy for this wonderful recognition. Jon's brilliantly nuanced performance in 'Mad Men' is the heart and soul of the series, and he has shaped one of the most memorable characters in one of the most critically-acclaimed series in television history.
