(NASDAQ:CARB), a leading provider of cloud and hybrid business continuity solutions for small and midsize businesses (SMBs), today announced that it has acquired core technology, six patents and other assets from Rebit, Inc. of Longmont, Colorado. In addition, six Rebit employees have joined the Carbonite Engineering team.
Founded in 2007, Rebit is a developer of backup and recovery software for home users, professionals and small businesses. The acquisition of Rebit's intellectual property strengthens Carbonite's product line and overall technology portfolio. The addition of six new patents brings Carbonite's total number of patents held to 15.
