HOLLYWOOD, FL--(Marketwired - Sep 24, 2015) - NV5 Holdings, Inc. (the "Company" or "NV5") (NASDAQ: NVEE), a provider of professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions, announced today that it has been named Inspector and Bridge Inventory Manager for four different agencies in California, including Silicon Valley's Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), the City of Atherton, Foster City, and Imperial County. Put together, the contracts amount to approximately 500 bridges and transportation structure inspections for which NV5 has exclusively managed the capacity and aesthetics, safety and maintenance for the last eight years.
"Silicon Valley has become an alluring destination for global leaders in technology and innovation over the last twenty years. As the population in this community rapidly grows, the pressing need for infrastructure improvement becomes even more pronounced," said Ernesto Aguilar, PE, COO of Infrastructure at NV5. "We are pleased that NV5 has become the go-to firm for structural inspections, reports, and repairs in Southern and Northern California."
"There has been a push in recent years by local agencies to retain greater control over the safety and maintenance of the publicly owned bridges and structures in their communities, and we have seen our business expand in Northern California as this has happened," said Bradley Waldrop, PE, Director of NV5's San Jose Infrastructure office.
Dave Schott, PE, SE, Project Manager for the majority of the contracts, added, "Nobody knows as much about structures as we do in the Bay Area. Our role in the region is unique because we have been able to combine our GIS skillset, our program and asset management expertise, and our field observation and design capabilities to impress our existing clients and win new work."
About Silicon Valley
The term Silicon Valley was widely adopted in the 1980s as a reference to the southern San Francisco Bay Area where many of the world's leading technology companies were founded and are headquartered today, including Google, Cisco Systems, Apple, and Facebook. The region is also home to thousands of high-tech startup companies, thought to account for more than one-third of all of the venture capital investment in the United States. Silicon Valley encompasses all of the cities and municipalities in Santa Clara Valley, including Palo Alto, Cupertino, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Santa Clara, Saratoga, Milpitas, Los Gatos, Los Altos, and Campbell, as well as southern portions of the East Bay and the southern half of the Bay's Peninsula.
