Comtech EF Data Announces the Appointment of Richard Swardh to Vice President, Market Development

Comtech EF Data Corp. announced today the appointment of Richard Swardh to Vice President, Market Development. In this newly created position, Swardh will lead Comtech EF Data’s market development, business development and product marketing functions for the 2G/3G/LTE mobile backhaul market.

A mobile network backhaul veteran, Swardh has 20+ years experience in a variety of strategic and operational positions at Ericsson, most recently as Director of Business Development. In this role, Swardh was responsible for the business development, partnership management and strategy execution necessary to increase Ericsson’s 2G, 3G and LTE revenue while expanding its emerging market presence. This required immense collaboration with satellite ground equipment manufacturers, satellite operators and systems integrators to determine the best fit solutions for a given set of service level expectations. Earlier in his career, Swardh launched and managed Ericsson’s satellite backhaul business as Business Manager, Satellite Services targeting mobile operators while also establishing a dominant market position in cruise, shipping and oil and gas markets.

Swardh holds both a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Business degree in Administration and Logistics from Vaxjo University in Sweden.
